Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the YoungunsTube web application and Progressive Web App (the "app", "YoungunsTube", "service"). They form an agreement between you (the account holder) and the operator of YoungunsTube ("we", "us", "our").

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using the app, you confirm that you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. See also our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

YoungunsTube is operated by an individual sole operator based in the United Kingdom.

2. What YoungunsTube is

YoungunsTube is a parental-control viewing app. A parent or guardian creates an account, sets up one or more profiles for their children, and controls what each child can access — including whether search is available, which channels and keywords are blocked, whether Shorts are shown, content restrictions, subscribed channels, and viewing times and limits. Parental controls are protected by a PIN you set.

The app displays publicly available YouTube content using YouTube's official API. The "subscriptions" a profile can add within the app are an internal follow list only — they are not connected to any real YouTube account and do not change anything on YouTube.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child whose profile you create.
  • You set up and manage all profiles. Children do not have their own accounts and cannot create or control an account themselves.
  • You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for keeping your account, your Google sign-in, and your parental control PIN secure, and for all activity that takes place under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

4. Your responsibilities as a parent or guardian

  • You decide and configure what each child profile can access. You are responsible for the profiles and settings you create.
  • The app's controls — blocking channels and keywords, disabling search or Shorts, content restrictions, and viewing-time limits — are tools to help you manage your child's access. They rely on information provided by YouTube and are offered on a best-efforts basis.
  • We cannot guarantee that every unsuitable video will be blocked, that filtering will be error-free, or that content available through YouTube will always be appropriate. You remain responsible for supervising your child's use of the app.

5. YouTube and other third-party services

  • YoungunsTube uses YouTube API Services. By using YoungunsTube, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
  • Google's handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Videos, channels, thumbnails, and search results shown in the app are provided by YouTube and third-party creators. We do not create, own, endorse, or control that content, and its availability is controlled by YouTube and the people who upload it — it may change or be removed at any time.
  • The app is hosted using Lovable Cloud infrastructure (powered by Supabase). Your use of the app is also subject to the applicable terms of those providers.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the app for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that breaches these Terms or the YouTube Terms of Service;
  • attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the PIN or any parental control or security feature;
  • copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except to the extent the law permits;
  • misuse, overload, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or its systems;
  • use the app to infringe anyone's rights or to harass, harm, or endanger others; or
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app without our written permission.

7. Intellectual property

The app itself — including its software, design, branding, and layout (but excluding YouTube content and other third-party content) — belongs to us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted. All YouTube and third-party content remains the property of its respective owners.

8. Subscriptions and payment

YoungunsTube is currently free to use while in early development. We do not currently charge any fees or collect payment information.

We will not introduce charges without notifying account holders in advance and updating these Terms.

9. Availability and changes to the service

The app is under active development. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, and there may be occasional bugs, interruptions, or downtime. We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that content shown will be suitable for any particular child.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, and nothing limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable, or that arises from your failure to supervise a child's use of the app, from third-party content shown through YouTube, or from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — this includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any breach of your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from the app dashboard. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or the YouTube Terms of Service, or if we need to for legal or security reasons. On termination, your right to use the app ends, and we will handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Data protection

We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your use of the app. Please read it to understand how we collect and use information about you and your children.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK in which you live, and mandatory consumer-protection laws of your home nation continue to apply.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify account holders and, where appropriate, ask you to review and accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the app. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when these Terms last changed.
